Pilates For Golfers
Golf is one of the fastest growing sports. It is a great social, athletic, and professional game. Golf is much harder than it seems. It’s not just about hitting the ball. Many people get onto a golf course without any prior physical training, this can lead to injuries as well as a bad game.
For professional golfers, the most common injuries occur in the lower back followed by the left wrist and left shoulder (for right handed golfers). In contrast, the elbow is the most common injury site experienced by amateur golfers, followed by the lower back and shoulder.

First, make sure you find someone who knows about Pilates as well as Golf. If this person is good they will challenge you to workout in all planes of movement as there are so many things happening with the body in just one stroke.
You will do a lot of core work first and foremost. Learning to move the hips and the rib cage with the core is essential. Then you will develop a strong shoulder girdle and upper body. Lastly, you must have good endurance. Although you’re not running a marathon, it takes a lot of energy to move in so many ways at once.
If you’re going to invest in golf lesson’s, it’s a good idea to invest in a good golfers’ workout routine at least once a week.
